A Christmas festival at Amsterdam’s most beautiful place: the Westergas. For four days, De Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt (translation: The Amsterdam Christmas Market) offers winter coziness, the best Christmas gifts, live music and, of course, plenty of mulled wine.
De Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt and Westergas have asked On Your Feed to do the complete marketing, communications and PR for their annual event. We started with a rebranding process, for which we made a number of recognizable illustrations that were used in all communications and at the event itself. We then developed a website which was organized around the different theme days of the event. This included many Mobile First design choices, so that visitors would also be able to quickly find program components and information about the venue during the event. In addition to the website, we carried out various organic and paid marketing and communication activities. With weekly posts on the Facebook and Instagram page, a Facebook event with 30,000 participants and a poster campaign in the city, we realized a significant growth in reach. During the campaign, we also made use of online advertising. Through targeted campaigns with different messages, tailored to the inhabitants of the city, tourists and surrounding villages, we received more than 40,000 unique visitors to the website. During the event itself this resulted in thousands of visitors per day.
On a regional and national level, we achieved a large number of publications through PR lobbying. De Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt appeared in several ‘what to do with Christmas’ lists and articles and Het Parool, De Westkrant and Metro also published about the event.
We aim to make De Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt the number one Christmas market in Amsterdam. With the potential it showed during the last edition, we expect this to happen in the near future.
